What will I study?

Units of study include:

• An introduction to working with children

• The developing child

• Safe healthy and nurturing environments for children

• Children and play

• Communication and professional skills within childcare and education

• The childcare practitioner in the workplace

Students completing a Level 2 qualification will also be expected to study key skills at a relevant level.

Other employment linked qualifications such as First Aid may be part of the programme of study.

Duration: 2 Year, Full Time

What will I study?

Units of study include:

• An introduction to working with children

• Development from conception to age 16 years

• Supporting children

• Keeping children safe

• The principles underpinning the role of the practitioner working with children

• Promoting a healthy environment for children

• Play and learning in childrens’ education

Practical experience will be gained through a range of placements such as nursery schools and primary/first schools, day nurseries, family centres, hospitals and private families.

Health, Social Care & Early Years - Diploma (Level 3)

Duration: 2 Year, Full Time

What will I study?

You will study a broad range of Health and Social Care topics – 18 units in total. 9 units will be studied each year.

Students completing a Level 3 qualification will also be expected to study one key skill. Key skills are the skills that are commonly needed for success in a range of activities in education and training, work and life in general. Other employment linked qualifications such as First Aid may be part of the programme of study.
